My name is Katy Rutherford. I am originally from Calgary but grew up living all over the world in Dubai, Paris and Houston. I have been playing competitive golf my entire life and have a real passion for teaching and competing. I went to the University of Nevada on a full golf scholarship and played on the team there for four years, I then moved back to Calgary in 2020 and worked at Golfuture YYC for a year, where I was lucky enough to meet my now husband. I am now a Class 'A' member of the PGA of Canada and have been a Golf Professional at Silver Springs Golf & Country Club for three years. Some accomplishments I am most proud of from the past few years are; being the only woman in the field for the 2021 ATB Classic on the PGA Tour Canada, Winning the 2022 PGA of Alberta Ladies Championship, Winning the 2023 PGA of Canada Brooke Henderson Female Player of the Year, representing Team Canada twice for the Women's PGA Cup (2022 &2024)
I have been coaching now for four seasons and am a passionate golf coach with extensive experience of working with people of all skill levels, I pride myself on helping players achieve their goals on the course. My teaching philosophy centers around fostering a supportive and encouraging environment where each student feels comfortable exploring their potential. I believe in tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of each individual, whether they are beginners looking to learn the fundamentals or seasoned players striving to refine their techniques. By emphasizing clear communication, constructive feedback, and a focus on the mental aspects of the game, I aim to empower my students to build confidence and develop their skills, Together, we will work to create a customized roadmap to success, ensuring that every player feels better about their game.
